LooView keeps only what the site needs to work and uses Google Analytics only with your consent. Below is exactly what sits in your browser, why and for how long. Version 2026-10-06.

§1

What we store and why

LooView keeps in your browser only what the site needs to work. That needs no consent. Version 2026-10-06. – looview_lang (localStorage): your language, so the site opens in it. Stays until you clear your browser data. – userNickname (localStorage): the nickname you choose in the header. – looview:installHint:dismissedAt (localStorage): that you said 'Not now' to the home-screen tip; 14 days. – looview:consent (localStorage): your answer to the cookie question, with time and version, so we do not ask every visit. – Sign-in session (Firebase Authentication, IndexedDB): keeps you signed in. Gone when you sign out. – Google Maps: the map on the map, city and measuring pages comes from Google. Google may set its own cookies on google.com when you use it. The map is the service you ask for yourself.

Google Analytics, only with your consent

To see which pages are visited and where visitors drop off we use Google Analytics 4. That happens only with your consent: Google's script loads only after you choose 'Accept' in the cookie bar. Without consent nothing goes to Google, not even an anonymous count. Google Analytics sets two cookies on looview.io: _ga and _ga_ followed by the number of our property. They tell your browser apart from other browsers, without your name. They last at most 13 months. Google LLC receives your visit data and processes it on LooView's behalf under a data processing agreement. Your IP address is truncated, advertising features and Google Signals are off, and we never link account details to the measurement.

Your choice

The cookie bar has two buttons of the same size: Accept and Decline. Declining costs you nothing; the site works exactly the same. We keep your choice in your browser (looview:consent). You can change your choice at any time with the 'Change your choice' button at the top of this page. If you withdraw consent we delete the Google Analytics cookies and stop measuring. If this policy changes materially, for instance with a new purpose or a new recipient, we ask again.

Third parties on the page

– Google Maps (Google LLC): provides the map. Necessary for the map pages; see above. – Google Analytics (Google LLC): only after consent; see above. – Fontshare (Indian Type Foundry): provides a typeface. Your browser fetches it from Fontshare, which sees your IP address. Fontshare sets no cookies. Otherwise LooView runs on Vercel (hosting) and Firebase (database and sign-in). They store nothing in your browser beyond the sign-in session above.
